The Role

We seek a passionate and dynamic Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team. This hands-on role requires someone with strong leadership skills and a flair for creating memorable guest experiences. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management to oversee daily operations, develop staff, and enhance the restaurant’s atmosphere. Your personality and energy will foster a positive work environment and ensure smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and managed front-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional service standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to boost staff engagement and team cohesion.
  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and staff training to ensure smooth operations.
  • Collaborate with the sommelier and kitchen team to deliver seamless service.
  • Uphold the restaurant’s high standards of hospitality and guest satisfaction.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar setting.
  • Possesses above-basic wine knowledge and can support the sommelier in delivering excellent wine service.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to management.

Work Environment

Hours and Shifts

This is a full-time position, averaging around 45 hours per week with a mix of doubles and singles. There is potential for a 4-day work week contract, consisting of four double shifts.

Salary and Benefits

  • Base salary: AUD 80,000 – 85,000 per annum
  • Weekly tips: AUD 200+ per week
  • Option to negotiate a 4-day work week (4 doubles)
