Our client is looking for an energetic General Manager to oversee a prestigious boutique hotel and dining venue located in the heart of Mudgee, NSW. This remarkable property features luxury accommodations, gourmet dining, a wellness center, and event spaces, providing a unique experience for both locals and visitors.
This is an exciting opportunity to not only manage an award-winning restaurant and lounge bar but to also drive revenue and guest satisfaction at a newly renovated 42-room high-end boutique hotel. The property features an 80-seat high-end restaurant, a 25-seat lounge bar for casual dining and crafted cocktails, and newly renovated boutique hotel rooms. Guests enjoy not only exquisite cuisine and top-tier wines but also wellness experiences, conference facilities, and exceptional guest service. Future plans include expanding into events like weddings and exclusive wine-pairing dinners, further elevating the venue’s status as a top-tier destination.
The Role
As the General Manager, you will have full responsibility for the boutique hotel, restaurant, wellness center, and other key departments. Your primary focus will be on maximizing room revenue while ensuring smooth, integrated operations across all departments. You will lead a dedicated team, including department heads for marketing, wellness, and food & beverage, to provide outstanding guest experiences in every aspect of the venue.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving Rooms Revenue: Take ownership of improving the average daily rate, enhancing the post-renovation guest experience, and creating cross-selling opportunities across wellness, F&B, and special packages.
- Leadership Across Departments: Oversee a cohesive team across various functions, ensuring high standards in guest service, from housekeeping to F&B. You’ll mentor, train, and inspire the team to exceed expectations in this high-end, boutique environment.
- Autonomy & Initiative: This role offers a high level of independence. You will have the autonomy to make key decisions, implement new systems, and continually seek ways to enhance operations and guest satisfaction without requiring constant input from higher management.
- High-Touch Guest Experience: Lead the charge in delivering a meticulous, detail-oriented hospitality culture where every guest feels valued. Your background in boutique properties will ensure a personalized, memorable experience for each visitor.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with your heads of marketing, wellness, and food & beverage to develop innovative packages that seamlessly combine different services to elevate guest stays and boost revenue.

- Boutique Property Expertise: Experience managing high-end boutique hotels or resorts, with a strong track record in improving guest satisfaction and driving revenue.
- Revenue Management Focus: Proven expertise in increasing room revenue, ideally in boutique or luxury environments. You’ll have a strategic approach to pricing, promotions, and cross-department collaborations.
