The Role
This role requires a creative, easy going and down-to-earth Sous Chef to fit in with a young and tight knit kitchen team. Needless to say, it’s a very “hands-on”, in the kitchen role, supporting the head chef.
Ideally, you’ll be someone from a “hatted” quality and busy restaurant background who thrives on managing a small team and is totally service driven. This is an excellent chance for an experienced Sous Chef who is ready to take on this exciting and challenging project.
We are looking for a person who is a natural leader, flexible, communicative, adaptable and positive.
All the usual bits of a kitchen job will be there. It’s hands on but we really want someone who can get excited and work with and support the Head Chef. These include running a section, running the pass, helping create new specials and refining the existing menu. Days are a strong focus on prep. Service is busy but made easy from the way the menu is designed.
Generally, most chefs work 45-hour weeks with minimal overtime.
Background
Coming from a Hatted background preferred but not necessary for the chef with the right attitude and skill set. Knowledge of Asian cuisine is an advantage but again not necessary if there is a passion to learn.
